How the Reaction Time test works
Press the panel to begin. It will turn red and say to wait. After a short, random pause, it suddenly turns green. The moment you see green, tap as fast as you can. The game measures the time between the green appearing and your tap, in milliseconds, where 1000 milliseconds is one second. Be careful not to tap while it is still red, because that counts as too soon and the round starts again. You play 5 rounds, and at the end you see your average time, while your fastest single time is saved as your best.
Tips for kids
Keep your eyes on the panel and your finger ready, but do not guess when green is coming, because guessing leads to tapping too soon. Stay relaxed, a calm body reacts faster than a tense one. Try a few games and watch your average get quicker.
Why it is good for kids
Reaction time games sharpen focus and quick responses, and they are a fun way to learn about milliseconds and measuring time. They are short and exciting, perfect for a quick challenge between other activities.
