About Tic Tac Toe
The board is a grid of nine squares. Two players take turns, one is X and the other is O. On your turn, tap any empty square to place your mark. The aim is to get three of your marks in a straight line, going across, down, or diagonally. The first player to make a line of three wins. If every square is filled and no one has three in a row, the game is a draw, which is also called a tie.
Tips for kids
Try to take the middle square when you can, it is part of the most winning lines. Watch what your opponent is doing, and if they have two in a row, block them by taking the third square. Look for chances to make two threats at once so your opponent cannot stop both. On Hard the computer never loses, so aim for a draw, that is a great result.
Why it is good for kids
Tic Tac Toe teaches planning, taking turns and thinking ahead, which are great early skills. It is quick to learn, fun to share with a friend, and a friendly first taste of strategy.
