Why flashcards work
Flashcards use two of the strongest tricks in learning science: active recall and spaced repetition. Flipping a card forces the brain to retrieve the answer rather than just recognize it, and the known and still-learning sorting means the facts that need work come back more often. That is why a few minutes of flashcards beats re-reading a page for things like times tables and sight words.
Start with the set your child is working on at school, keep sessions short, and celebrate the shrinking deck. For practice that feels more like play, try our quizzes for kids or the timed challenges in our math games.
