From the corner to the flag

You control the colored dot, which starts in the top left corner. Your goal is the flag in the bottom right corner. Move through the open passages using the arrow keys on a keyboard, by swiping on a touch screen, or with the arrow buttons below the maze. Walls block your way, and there are dead ends to fool you, so look ahead and plan your route. Reach the flag to solve the maze.

The hand-on-the-wall trick

One trick rarely fails: rest an imaginary hand on one wall, keep it there, and follow that wall wherever it leads; on a maze like this it will bring you round to the exit in the end, even if it wanders a while. Beyond that, train your eye on the open passages rather than the walls, and treat a dead end as no setback at all, simply back up to the last junction and take the turn you skipped. The bigger mazes just ask for a little more patience.

Building a map in the mind

Finding a way through a maze is route-planning made visible: a child scans ahead, holds a rough map of where the passages lead, and keeps the flag in the corner of their mind while doubling back out of dead ends. That habit of picturing a path before committing to it is genuine spatial reasoning, the same sense that later helps with reading a diagram or following directions across town. And a maze is unusually satisfying to finish, since the instant you reach the flag the whole tangle suddenly makes sense.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play the Maze?

Move the dot from the start in the top left to the flag in the bottom right. Use the arrow keys, swipe, or the arrow buttons to move through the open paths. Find your way to the flag to win.

How is each maze made?

Every maze is generated fresh so there is always exactly one clear path from the start to the flag, with no impossible dead ends sealing it off. Bigger mazes simply add more branches and false turns, so the same rules can produce an easy first maze or a really twisty one.

Do bigger mazes get harder?

Yes. A small maze has few turns and is quick to clear, while a larger one packs in more branches, longer corridors and more dead ends to double back from. The path is always there, but finding it takes more planning, which is what makes the big ones satisfying.
