Second grade quietly introduces the biggest memorization project of elementary school: multiplication. The friendly way in is 2s, 5s and 10s, and the games here start exactly there, alongside the last big push of sight words and real spelling.

This is also the age where kids can genuinely play everything on the site, so the thinking games at the bottom are not extras; they are the reward that keeps the practice loop spinning.

Frequently asked questions

What math should 2nd grade games practice?

Addition and subtraction fact fluency, and the first times tables: 2s, 5s and 10s. The flashcard decks and the times tables game on this page cover that exact progression.

What order should times tables be learned?

Start with 2, 5 and 10, which have patterns to lean on, then 3 and 4. Once those are automatic, the harder tables are mostly facts they already know reversed.

Are the quizzes suitable for a 7 year old?

Yes. Most of our quizzes are written for ages 6-11 with short questions, four friendly options and an explanation after every answer, so a wrong guess still teaches something.
