About Odd or Even

A number appears in the middle of the screen. Your job is to decide whether it is odd or even and tap the matching button. Even numbers, like 2, 4 and 10, can be split into two equal groups. Odd numbers, like 1, 3 and 7, always have one left over. If you are right, you score a point and the next number appears. If not, the game shows you the correct answer. There are 10 questions in a round, and your best score is saved.

Tips for kids

The quickest trick is to look only at the last digit of the number. If it ends in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 it is even. If it ends in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 it is odd. This works no matter how big the number is. Start with the To 20 round, then try To 100.

Why it is good for kids

Knowing odd and even numbers is an important early math idea that leads to sharing, grouping, and later to multiplication and division. This game makes it quick and fun, and the last digit trick gives children a handy rule they will use for years.
