About Connect Four
The board stands upright with seven columns and six rows. On your turn, choose a column and your disc drops down to the lowest empty space in it. Players take turns, one is red and the other is yellow. The goal is to be the first to get four of your own discs in a straight line. That line can go up and down, across, or diagonally. Watch your opponent too, if they have three in a row, block the fourth spot before they can win.
Tips for kids
Try to play in the middle columns early, they give you the most ways to make a line. Always check if your opponent is about to get four, and block them. Look for clever moves that make two threats at once, because your opponent can only block one. On Hard the computer plans ahead, so think carefully.
Why it is good for kids
Connect Four teaches planning, looking ahead and spotting patterns, all while being quick and fun to share with a friend. It is a friendly introduction to strategy that children of many ages enjoy.
