About Code Breaker
Somewhere hidden is a secret code made of four colored pegs, and colors can repeat. Your job is to work out the exact code. To make a guess, tap colors from the palette to fill the four slots, then press Check guess. For each guess you get clue dots. A dark dot means one of your colors is the right color and in the right place. A light dot means a color is in the code but you put it in the wrong place. The clues do not say which color is which, so you must use careful thinking to narrow it down. Crack the code before you run out of guesses.
Tips for kids
Start by trying different colors to learn which ones are in the code. Once you know a color belongs, move it around to find its right place using the dark and light dots. Keep track of what each guess told you, and rule out what cannot be true.
Why it is good for kids
Code Breaker is brilliant for logical thinking, deduction and patience. Children learn to use clues, test ideas and rule things out step by step, which are powerful problem solving skills.
